Exhibitions, publications, conferences, round tables and concerts.
The Associazione Richard Wagner di Venezia organizes numerous events aimed at widening knowledge and promoting studies of the life, music and literature of Richard Wagner. This includes the Centro Europeo di Studi e Ricerche Richard Wagner - Richard Wagner European Study and Research Centre (C.E.S.R.R.W.), based in his rooms here. This free university is open to all those wishing to widen or complete their knowledge of the composer's works. Together with the Fondazione Teatro La Fenice it also organizes annual Wagner Days dedicated to performances of the Maestro's music and the works of other composers who influenced or were influenced by him.
In 2003 the Josef Lienhart Fund was donated to the C.E.S.R.R.W. This private collection containing books, scores, facsimiles, lithographs, paintings, records, programmes and signed letters, has been laid out in three of the rooms in which Richard Wagner lived on the mezzanine floor of the Ca' Vendramin Calergi. The collection is open to scholars and research students who are welcome to make reservations to visit it and consult the material it contains.
The Association also arranges training courses and seminars for aspiring musicians, performers, directors, set designers, music scholars and sector operators as well as offering the best of them scholarships for taking part in the Bayreuther Festspiele.
